Greater Flamingo - Isla Santa Cruz, Galapagos, Ecuador
Greater Flamingo photographed in Isla Santa Cruz, Galapagos, Ecuador. Our last encounter with this species was in Nagpur when Leena found this species in a lake near Nagpur - the second recorded sighting in Nagpur after > 100 years.
Unlike that bird which was drab, the Flamingoes in Galapagos were colorful and vibrant. The rich colors in their feathers coming from the crustaceans they eat.
