Swallow-tailed Gull - Darwin Bay, Isla Genovesa, Galapagos, Ecuador
These birds are nocturnal feeders and go out to the ocean to feed at night. Therefore their bill is tipped white so that the chicks can see in the dark to feed - quite cool. We saw several pairs including a few that were "roosting" during the day with their eyes closed. Every so often, they would open their eyes to check out us tourists, but then go back to sleep
